Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
(Psalm 119:105)

... and the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
(Acts 11:26)

OUR PLEA is to follow Christ's instructions and simply be a church based on and following his teachings in the New Testament. Such an appeal involves going back beyond all human creeds, councils, synods, and ecclesiastical authorities to Christ and the inspired apostles and giving up all things which differ from their teaching.

THIS PLEA is not to reform some church or "the church". Christ's church, as revealed in the Bible, needs no reformation. Neither is this a plea to establish some kind of new church or denomination. We simply want to follow what Christ said for us to believe, teach, and do in worship and service to God.

"the churches of Christ salute you" (Romans 16:16)

Founded Over 1900 Years Ago

An inspired man by the name of Luke tells us that "they that gladly received his word were baptized; and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls." (Acts 2:41) In the same chapter it is declared that "the Lord added to the church such as should be saved." (Acts 2:47)

As we study our Bibles we see that those churches of Christ (congregations of God's people, the saved in different places) assembled together "on the first day of the week" to partake of the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7), "to lay by in store" of their means (1 Corinthians 16:2) and to "sing, pray, and teach". (Acts 2:42, Ephesians 5:19)

Neither Protestant Nor Catholic

Those "churches of Christ" were neither Protestant nor Catholic. They were totally non-denominational. The members were those saved in obedience to Christ (Acts 2:41,47) and were called "Christians". (Acts 11:26, 1 Pet. 4:16)

No Earthly Headquarters

Christ is the head of his church. (Ephesians 1:22-23). His disciples (then and now) were not and are not to be subject to any hierarchy or council - only to Christ!

We believe the Bible is the Word of God and is the only standard of authority (determines what is right and wrong) in serving God.

We believe the New Testament is God's will to mankind through Christ for all ages (Hebrews 1:1-2) and should be the only creed and guide in our worship, teaching, and practice -- "by the which will we are sanctified." (Hebrews 10:10)

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

"According as his divine power has given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue." (2 Peter 1:3)

"And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free". (John 8:32) "Thy word is truth". (John 17:17) "Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently; Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever."(1 Peter 1:22-23)
