THE CRIMSON CORD

MEETING GOD’S CONDITIONS FOR SALVATION

RAHAB, GOD’S EXAMPLE

Rahab’s place in history

Joshua 2:1-24

Rahab’s place in HIS-STORY

Matthew 1:5-6

5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, 6 and Jesse begot David the king.

Note: Rahab was in the lineage of Christ.

The Crimson Cord and The Blood of the Passover

Exodus 12:12-14

12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD. 13 Now the blood (of the Passover lamb) shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you; and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.

MEETING GOD’S CONDITIONS FOR SALVATION

The faith and salvation of Rahab

Hebrews 11:31 By faith the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace.

But Rahabs faith was more than mental acceptance of God and His will, it was made effective through obedience

James 2:24-26

25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

James 2:22-24

22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only
