LIVING FOREVER

IN PEACE AND HAPPINESS

That is the goal, how do we go about doing it.

THE PROBLEM

All have sinned.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

We are not guilty of the sins of other people.

Ezekiel 18:1-ff

The effect of our sin.

Isaiah 59:1-2

1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.

All is not lost.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

THE ANSWER

Jesus is the Way

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

We must hear Him

John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

We must believe and trust Him Romans 10:17

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

We must turn to God once again.

Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

We must confess Jesus Christ at all cost.

Matthew 10:32-40

If we want to walk with Him we must be buried with Him.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

To survive we must keep our focus on Him

Hebrews 12:1,2

HOW DO WE FOCUS ON CHRIST

By holding to His word.

It provides us with all that we need.

2 Tim 3:16-17

16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

It develops us into what we truly want to be.

Galatians 5:17-25

17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Walking in the Spirit means to walk in the word (The Gospel) delivered by the Spirit

John 14:26

26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

It is essential that we limit ourselves to that word.

Deut 4:2, Numbers 22:18, 24:13 and II John 9

Conclusion:

The goal to living forever with God in heaven is submitting to His plan of salvation.  A salvation which is accomplished only through Christ and His gospel.  In order to survive the efforts of Satan we must keep our focus on Christ by living within His word.
